Meet Jodi Ihas

Choosing a therapist is an important decision. I believe healing begins when you feel safe, heard, and genuinely understood.

I'm Jodi Ihas, a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) providing compassionate, evidence-based online counselling for adults across Canada. I support individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, and major life transitions.

Every person has a unique story. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to your goals, strengths, and experiences, drawing from evidence-based approaches including EMDR Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care.

Whether you're working through difficult life experiences, struggling with overwhelming emotions, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to provide a supportive space where meaningful, lasting change can happen.

Therapeutic Modalities

Every client is unique. My counselling approach is person-centred and trauma-informed, drawing from a range of evidence-based therapies to create a treatment plan tailored to your goals, strengths, and individual needs. Therapeutic modalities may include:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process traumatic and distressing experiences, reducing their emotional impact and supporting lasting healing.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours that contribute to anxiety, depression, stress, and low self-esteem.

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT teaches practical skills to manage overwhelming emotions, improve relationships, tolerate distress, and build emotional resilience.

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)

MI helps you explore mixed feelings, strengthen motivation, and build confidence to make meaningful, lasting changes.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT helps you develop psychological flexibility by accepting difficult thoughts and emotions while taking actions that align with your values.

  • Mindfulness-Based Practices

Mindfulness help you develop greater awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and body, reducing stress and helping you respond more calmly to life's challenges.

Why Work With Jodi

Seeking support takes courage, and choosing the right therapist is an important decision. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported throughout your healing journey.

I recognize that every person's story is different. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I take the time to understand your experiences, strengths, and goals before developing a treatment plan tailored specifically to you.

My work is grounded in trauma-informed, person-centred care and informed by current research in neuroscience, attachment, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, I strive to help you build insight, resilience, and meaningful, lasting change.

Clients often tell me they appreciate my warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach while also valuing my ability to ask thoughtful questions, provide practical strategies, and gently challenge patterns that may no longer serve them. Together, we work at a pace that feels safe while moving toward the life you want to create.

What You Can Expect

  • A personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs

  • Evidence-based approaches informed by current research
